Intro to Good Health in Kansas City

We’re often reminded that we should be living a healthier lifestyle. Let it be said, that I am in the “should be” group as well. That is why I am in search of good health in Kansas City!

A truly healthy lifestyle results from a balanced life. The key points of a balanced lifestyle include having adequate time for work, family and relationships, relaxation and fun. In order to maintain a healthy balance there must be a combination of exercise; a sensible diet; reduction of caffeine, sugar and alcohol; the absence of tobacco and drugs; stress reduction methods and adequate
sleep.

Sounds easy enough…

The truth is, every one of us could benefit greatly from a healthier lifestyle, though we often come up with a heap of excuses why we’ll get started “tomorrow”. “Tomorrow”, a word that often means, “never”. Not to put any pressure on you or me…

So what would happen if you were to add a little physical activity to your daily routine and maybe start eating less chips and cookies and more fish, fruit and veggies? That would be an enormous step in the right direction! Honestly, a healthier lifestyle can happen in small steps with great benefits to your overall health.

Physical activity and exercise is great for stress prevention and reduction. A combination of stretching, muscle toning and aerobic exercise tends to be the best. You should get at least 30 minutes of exercise three times a week. The best news is that you don't need to do all 30 minutes at once. It has been proven that breaking it down into small 10 to 15 minute intervals is just as
beneficial. How cool is that! Who can’t take a 10 minute walk around the office or through the grocery store or the school campus or where ever your feet may take you?

Good health in Kansas City is everywhere! By way of the great many parks throughout KC in which a brisk walk is just under foot, to the endless options of fitness centers, and the fantastic healthy eateries that can be found almost everywhere!

In the very near future we are going to dive deeper into the topic of good health in Kansas City. We’ll evaluate some local fitness centers, healthy restaurant options, and even provide some of our own healthy recipes and physical activity suggestions.
